I found the Wonka Factory!

So today was an interesting day! I loved seeing the Museum fur Gestaltung and getting a private tour of the poster collection. To me the posters and typography exhibits where the best and interested me the most.

Seeing the magazine cover in person that we learned about yesterday was so fascinating. I was caught off guard when she opened the drawer and that was what we saw. It was cool to connect the dots from the artist who made it to seeing it in person. Moving on to the next part of the tour I really enjoyed seeing the puppets made by Sophie Taeuber-Arp. They reminded me of something Tim Burton would make. They all had very long drawn out faces and some even followed some of Burton's dark color schemes.

I wanted to pick one up and play with it. Next on the tour we visited a room that was filled with chairs... Yes chairs... Who would of though that chairs we would be in a museum. It was quite interesting learning about them though. The tour guide was able to show us different stages of them and how the artist would come to a final model of what they were trying to create. I have to say some of them looked pretty comfortable.

Lastly we visited a room filled with over 20,000 different preserved posters. My favorite one would have to be the one of JFK that was framed on the wall. After leaving the museum we went to get a quick lunch and ventured off to the Dada Stadt Zurich Cabaret Voltaire.

I couldn't resist getting a gyro for lunch... I love middle eastern food and it was loaded with meat so I was perfectly content.

Learning about DADA was pretty cool. We heard an interesting speaker and he explained all of the history that was directly tied into Zurich. He talked about the wars and how artists came from all over for a chance to shine. Dada Stadt Zurich Cabaret Voltaire was the birth place of the DADA movement. The most interesting thing that he spoke about was how they paid a couple to name their child "DADA". I do not know why I chose this to find interesting, but its one of those random facts that just stood out. I just wish we could see more and have a more hands on experience.

After that we got CHOCOLATE and to say the least I was in heaven for the few moments I was devouring it. It was so good and completely blows American chocolate out of the water.  Check out the chocolate store we found!

We found this little chocolate shop on a side street. When we walked in you could smell it in the air and it was amazing. The chocolate is amazing! I bought 10 bars at the Coop. I also got some Swiss hot chocolate that I can not wait to taste. I was in CHOCOLATE HEAVEN! Did I mention I like chocolate? It's been a fun day but I'm ready to get some sleep.

And here is a picture of Tae taking a selfie.

This is Dave from our hotel in Zurich. He's super nice and helped us find really good food. He gave us the down low of all the good restaurants in the district and helped us with the public transportation to get where we wanted to go.

I think the smiles show how good dinner was. It was authentic German bratwurst.
