Throw some Basel on that pizza

I am slowly starting to blend in. The jet lag is still there, but dwindling....

Oh Basel... It was fun while it lasted. You treated me so well and fed me better than the University of Tampa cafeteria ever could. The school of Design and Art was freaking amazing. I absolutely loved the architecture of all of the buildings. It was a small eight floor building that packed a punch every where you looked. Every corner had a different classroom or work space, every window had a breath taking view.

They are currently building another building for the school, and I can not wait to see what the building looks like when it is done. It looks so futuristic and modern. The tour really sparked my interest in Typography and graphic design. Hearing the two men speak about their work in the field and how they teach at the school was incredible. Their system is totally different from the American college system.  Seeing the different types of work the programs create was really interesting. Each program has a set curriculum that they follow, and it really pushes the artist to think outside the box. I was also extremely caught off guard when the price of school was talked about. The Swiss government offsets the cost of school so much that it brings tuition down to just a few thousand dollars for all four years of school. At the end of the four hour presentation, I wished I had my computer with me to create some typography work. After the tour at the school, a few of us walked around the city and it was so fun.

We ate at this restaurant where the waiter totally made fun of us, but it's okay he was nice. It was an Italian restaurant that was beyond amazing! I had a plain pizza and it was so fresh and so cheesy. I feel like they made the sauce, dough and cheese right before cooking it. After getting back to the hotel my head hit the pillow and I was out cold.

After a long day of shenanigans a group of us all went to a pool hall and just hung out. It was fun to sit and relax and just have a drink. We stayed for about three hours and then ran back to the hotel in the rain. Our night would not have been complete without a stop at McDonald's, and yes they do have different food and it is quite expensive!
