Party in the Clouds

So today has been the best day of exploration since we have been in this alien land. Some of us took a side trip, on our free day, and visited the Swiss Alps in Luzern and saw the most breath taking views. It was worth every penny I spent. 

Of course the first thing I do is dive into the snow and roll around. IT WAS THE BEST THING EVER! Did I mention I love the cold? Well, I do! It's amazing! 

I love the cold, so for today I was in heaven. But for real, I wish I had worn shorts. Riding up the cable car freaky, we could not see the cable cars in front of or behind us. It felt like a horror movie! 

Once we got to the top the anticipation was well worth it. We had lunch in this really fancy restaurant and the Mac n Cheese was delicious! After spending all morning in a cloudy haze, all of our hopes were starting to drop. But with perfect timing BAM! The sun comes out. It melted all the paths of the slippery ice and cleared way for some amazing hiking. We hiked around and saw some pretty crazy views and took some amazing selfies! It was truly something to cross off of my bucket list. On the way back the boat was long and relaxing. On the boat we got to see all the Swiss suburbs and towns that boarder the lake but the best part was just sitting and relaxing in the fresh air. All of the air is clean and smells clean. When you look around smog is never to be found.

The water on the lake looks better than bottled water! It was fresh Alps snow melt. I wanted to dip my head in and drink. It sucks we can not do that at home. After the long ride back we went out to eat some super duper cheesy fondue.

Today was amazing! I had more fun today, and got to see what I really wanted to see. When I used to think of Switzerland I saw the rolling green hills and snowy peaks. I feel today I got to see that in real life. It was a day that I will always remember.
